The Reason For Everything

February 15, 2004

Romans 11:33-36
33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison.

Point to Ponder: It’s all for Him

Question to Consider: How in my daily routine could I become more aware of God’s glory around me?

(Rom 11:36 NIV)  For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

The ultimate goal of the universe is to show the glory of God. It is the reason for everything that exists, including you. God made it all for his glory. Living for God’s glory is the greatest achievement you can accomplish with your life.

God says: (Isaiah 43:7 NIV) everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."

So it ought to be the supreme goal of our lives.

Jesus honored God by fulfilling His purpose on earth. We bring God glory the same way.

There are many ways to bring glory to God but they can be summarized in God’s five purposes for your life.
1.)    We bring God glory by worshiping Him.
2.)    We bring God glory by loving other believers.
3.)    We bring God glory by becoming like Christ.
4.)    We bring God glory by serving others with our gift.

5.)    We bring God glory by telling others about Him.

There are three secrets about the glory of God that most people miss.
1.)    When you trust Christ with your life, God puts glory in you!
2.)    The second secret is that the more you focus on living for God’s glory, the more you will be filled with joy!
3.)    And the third secret is that if you’ve committed your life to Jesus, one day you are going to share in God’s glory.

God repeatedly promises that if we live for His glory on earth, we’ll share His glory for eternity!!!
