Rev. Carl H. Kemp, Pastor

Planned for God's Pleasure

February 22, 2004

Psalms 149

(Psalms 149:4 NIV)  For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.

God’s plan is that He takes pleasure in us.

God’s pleasure Ezekiel (18:30-32). Some have assumed that since God had ordained judgment, He must be cruel and vindictive. Not so. God takes pleasure in repentance. He judges those who will not repent, because He must.

Point to Ponder : I was planned for God’s pleasure.

Bringing pleasure to God is called worship. It is the first and primary purpose of your life. “ Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of Worship”

Like a diamond, worship is multifaceted. Worship is a lifestyle.

Rev 4:11 NIV)  "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

Worship isn’t for you, Our goal is to bring  pleasure to God, not ourselves.

(Psa 147:11 NIV)  the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

                                                                               Or worship

Worship is not what you do with your lips; it’s what you do with your life.

All the singing, praying, and praising is worthless if it doesn’t lead to personal change and commitment.

Real worship is offering yourself to live for God’s pleasure.

(Romans 12:1 NIV)  Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
