Created to Become like Christ
July 25, 2004
2 Corinthians 3:718
Point to Ponder: I was created to become like Christ.
(2 Cor NIV) And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
From the very beginning, Gods plan has been to make you like his Son, Jesus.
(Rom NIV) For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Only the Holy Spirit has the supernatural power to make the changes God wants to make in our lives.
1.) Gods word provides the truth we need to grow.
2.) Gods people provide the support we need to grow.
3.) Circumstances provide the environment to practice Christlikeness.
(1 John 3:2 NIV) Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
Becoming like Christ is a long, slow process of growth. Spiritual maturity is neither instant nor automatic; it is a gradual, progressive development that will take the rest of your life.
