Accepting Your Assignment

November 7, 2004

Ephesians 2: 1—10

Point to Ponder: Service is not optional

You are here to make a difference by serving God and others. God fashioned each of us to make a unique contribution with our lives. God redeemed you for the purpose of doing His Holy work. You’re not saved by service but you are saved for service.

(2 Tim 1:9 NIV) who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

(Mat 20:27 NIV) and whoever wants to be first must be your slave--

(Mat 20:28 NIV) just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Accepting your assignment is the heart of the Christian life. Jesus came to serve and to give.
