Made For a Mission
January 9, 2005
Matthew 28: 16 20
Point to Ponder: I was made for a mission.
Your mission introducing people to God is the fifth purpose of your life.
Jesus commands us to continue His mission. The Great Commission was not given to pastors but to every follower of Jesus. You will be the only Christian some people will ever know. Your mission is a great privilege. You mission is the greatest thing you can do for someone. You mission has eternal significance.
If just one person will be in heaven because of you, your life cannot be considered a failure.
Gods timetable for historys conclusion is connected to the completion of the commission weve been given. Jesus will not return until everyone he wants to hear the Good News has heard it.
(Acts 20:24 NIV) However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.
Completing your mission will bring glory to God. The night before He was crucified Jesus reported to His Father, (John 17:4 NIV) I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
Will you be able to say that at the end of your life?
