1 Cor NIV And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
The New Testaments revelation rests on this as an historical fact. On the day of Pentecost Peter argued the necessity of Christs resurrection from the prediction in
(Acts NIV) But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
(Acts NIV) David said about him: "'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
(Acts NIV) Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope,
(Acts 2:27 NIV) because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
(Acts NIV) You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'
In his own discourses, also, our Lord clearly intimates his resurrection
(Mat NIV) and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"
(Mark 9:9 NIV) As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
(Mark NIV) But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into
(Luke NIV) On the third day he will rise again."
(John NIV) Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."
(John NIV) The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?"
(John NIV) But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
(John NIV) After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
