He Truely Lives

Psalm 16

1 Cor 15:14 NIV And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

The New Testament’s revelation rests on this as an historical fact. On the day of Pentecost Peter argued the necessity of Christ’s resurrection from the prediction in

(Acts 2:24 NIV)  But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

(Acts 2:25 NIV)  David said about him: "'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

(Acts 2:26 NIV)  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope,

(Acts 2:27 NIV) because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

(Acts 2:28 NIV)  You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'

In his own discourses, also, our Lord clearly intimates his resurrection

(Mat 20:19 NIV) and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"

(Mark 9:9 NIV)  As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

(Mark 14:28 NIV)  But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

(Luke 18:33 NIV)  On the third day he will rise again."

(John 2:19 NIV)  Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."

(John 2:20 NIV)  The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?"

(John 2:21 NIV)  But the temple he had spoken of was his body.

(John 2:22 NIV)  After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
